A visit to Mirabela. - A short climb to the 13th century pirate fortress above the old town is definitely something you shouldn’t miss while in Omiš. It’s no more than a five-minute walk from the central Omiš square to the top of the fortress offering a magnificent view over the entire town and the nearby island of Brač. Here you can experience the mountain spirit of Omiš and enjoy the same view ancient pirates had while they kept the town safe from constant threats from sea. Oh, and please prepare some change prior to climbing to Mirabela, there is an entrance fee of 30 kuna. And for Omiš in the last part of your one day tour we recommend a truly unique experience — a trip to Radmanove mlinice. The Cetina river canyon is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful river sceneries in Croatia and especially impressive is the part near the very mouth, where the river pushes its way to the sea through a narrow passage between two mountains. One of the best ways to experience the canyon is on a sightseeing boat trip. Only while fighting your way upstream through unspoiled nature will you be able to truly grasp the magnificence of the river. And the best thing is – all this just a few hundred meters away from the crowded streets of the town, which will seem miles away to you once in the Cetina canyon. Walking the thousands of years old streets, visiting a 600 years old fortress, enjoying the breathtaking panoramic view of the Dalmatian archipelago and experiencing almost surreal serenity of untouched nature in the Cetina river canyon, and all that in just one afternoon. Seems like a day well spent to us :)
