Blato na Cetini is a town in Omiš’s hinterland and it’s located near the river of Cetina. The name of the place comes from the lake mud made by the Cetina strait called “Jelača” until the last decades of the 18th century, which made the area malarious and unfavorable for settlement. At the end of the 18th century, the strait burst and attracted many inhabitants to the area, as evidenced by the year 1792 carved on the stone baptistery, which probably refers to a significant expansion of the church due to the influx of new population.
